79 | Allowing yourself to receive more money // with Maren Rasmussen

Transcript
Speaker:

I'm Alex, and you're listening to the Mindful with Media podcast.

2

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: Let's just get

started by having you introduce yourself.

3

:

Both yourself and also

your, your business.

4

:

Maren Rasmussen: Okay.

5

:

I'm Maren Rasmussen and I grew up in St.

6

:

George, Utah, and I currently

live in Northern Utah.

7

:

I have two little kids

that are two and three.

8

:

They're a bundle of fun, and

then two stepkids that are.

9

:

older, like 19 and 22 almost.

10

:

So super fun.

11

:

I, yeah, I love rock climbing.

12

:

I love meditating.

13

:

I love all the mindset

work, all the things.

14

:

And then in the past 10 years or

so, I have gotten into energy work.

15

:

Maybe, yeah, it's been like 13 or 14 years

ago, I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia.

16

:

And I also suffered with

depression and anxiety.

17

:

And so it, sometimes when you get

to your breaking point, you're like,

18

:

okay, what are some other options here?

19

:

And I know that you've probably

experienced that with some of the things

20

:

you've dealt with in your life too.

21

:

And so I was open to some weird

things, one of them being energy work.

22

:

And I started with someone

that did, it's called N A E T.

23

:

It's an allergy elimination technique.

24

:

And that's kind of where I like.

25

:

Started opening up to energy work and

finding that I have a gift to see energy

26

:

and that it can be really useful for

a lot of people as I tap into that.

27

:

I felt there was a piece

missing as I was like doing it.

28

:

I just felt like something was

filled off and that's when I found.

29

:

Like thought work, mindset work

coaching, and then the two together are

30

:

just like this magical bundle of fun.

31

:

So it's been awesome to bring them

both together and really Work on people

32

:

energetically and see what I'm seeing,

but also coach them at the same time.

33

:

And I work with a lot of coaches too,

that already understand that aspect.

34

:

So then they can use the things that

they learned from our sessions to go and

35

:

coach themselves more and kind of release

things that are, that are holding them up.

36

:

So yeah, that's a little bit about me.

37

:

Alex | Mindful with Media:

Hey, I love that so much.

38

:

And I love the combination of the thought

work belief work with the energy work.

39

:

And I think you're going to be kind

of talking about both today, right?

40

:

Both aspects of that in relation to money.

41

:

And we'll get into that

a little bit later.

42

:

I'd love for you to just.

43

:

If somebody is, like, very new to this

world of energy, like, energy work,

44

:

how would you describe it to them?

45

:

Maren Rasmussen: Very good question.

46

:

So everything is made

of energy in the world.

47

:

And so I, I usually describe it to people

like everything's energetic and I just

48

:

have eyes to see the energy more clearly.

49

:

And I feel like a lot of people

actually, I would call it a

50

:

spiritual gift, a gift of some sort.

51

:

But I feel like a lot of people actually

have a gift in this way, but it's just

52

:

kind of shows up differently for people.

53

:

It feels like intuitive in ways.

54

:

Like you feel very in

tune or a lot of empaths.

55

:

If they say they're like a very empathetic

introverts, a lot of times might have

56

:

gifts and in these areas and extroverts

too, but I've just noticed that more.

57

:

But, yeah.

58

:

My goal, like there's so many

different ways to see energy.

59

:

Like some people feel it, some people

have specific scripts that they follow.

60

:

For me, I as soon as I get permission

from whoever I'm working on, I don't

61

:

work on anyone without that permission.

62

:

And then I can kind of, I

say, I tap into their energy.

63

:

So it does take effort on my part.

64

:

But from there, I.

65

:

can see different like symbols and

like, like a box or a circle or a clock.

66

:

And it kind of shows up in

different aspects of the

67

:

different areas of the body.

68

:

And then once I start talking about it, it

kind of unfolds to me what that story is.

69

:

So for example, maybe there's

like a clock stuck in someone's

70

:

like heart chakra by their heart.

71

:

And it could just, it could sometimes

open up to like, they're paying too much

72

:

attention to like the clock and the time.

73

:

Very time scarce.

74

:

And so then we can work on that

and kind of dig more into it.

75

:

The other thing I love about

energy work is that it can really

76

:

connect you with your ancestors.

77

:

So I do connect with

those that have passed on.

78

:

I don't call myself a medium.

79

:

Some people ask me if I am.

80

:

That's not my goal or purpose.

81

:

It just we're so interconnected.

82

:

With people and our family that it

they often show up and just like the

83

:

DNA of what we look like it's passed

down to us Beliefs which everyone could

84

:

probably think of like, oh, yeah, my

great grandma always said this phrase,

85

:

you know and we all believe it now and

so There's just like beliefs that kind

86

:

of get stuck in our system as well or

trauma that we can then release as well.

87

:

And when I say release, it's just energy

just kind of needs to be recognized kind

88

:

of like when we talk about feelings and

processing feelings rather than like

89

:

holding on to them when we recognize

it and say, like, I see you, it's okay

90

:

that you're here and it's okay to leave.

91

:

It kind of helps that energy shift.

92

:

And then we can bring something new in.

93

:

So energy isn't destroyed or created.

94

:

It just is.

95

:

It can be moved.

96

:

And so that's our goal as we, as I

work on someone is to help shift the

97

:

energy in their system to help bring

more circulation, like, energetic

98

:

circulation, even physical, a lot of times

physical issues, I think are just more

99

:

emotional or energetically at the base.

100

:

That's like the issue

that we need to work on.

101

:

It's not really the physical thing.

102

:

It's just showing up physically as a gift.

103

:

Like, hey, there's something

more going on here.

104

:

So it's much more of like a holistic

approach to a lot of things, but I also

105

:

Definitely believe there's a lot of things

that can support the system and the body.

106

:

It doesn't have to just be energy

work, but for people that it resonates

107

:

with, it can be very useful a very

useful tool in helping them progress

108

:

and heal and change and create.

109

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: So powerful.

110

:

I feel like, you know, I think

I've, like, heard things about

111

:

energy work or thing, and it's, I,

I, it sounded, like, so woo woo.

112

:

Like, what?

113

:

But I feel like since I've learned about

it from you, it's just, like, made sense.

114

:

Like, yeah.

115

:

I don't know.

116

:

I think you, you have a another

gift of, teaching it in a way that

117

:

resonates and just rings true to, to

118

:

Maren Rasmussen: Yeah.

119

:

I, I think too, like I can understand

why people think it's wuwu, you

120

:

know, and even when I first started,

I'm like, this is kind of weird.

121

:

So because of that perspective, it's like

really opened me up to like, Yeah, this

122

:

tool doesn't have to be for everyone,

but I think it can help everyone.

123

:

But also it's just, it's really

expanded my mind and consciousness to

124

:

be able to see, like, what viewpoints

are like, where's our focus and what

125

:

are we creating with that focus?

126

:

And we can, we can see it

energetically in our system as well.

127

:

So I, I think it's an amazing

tool and I love doing it.

128

:

I love working with people that are.

129

:

Yeah, just especially those that like

understand the mindset part of it too.

130

:

It just, I, we have some amazing sessions

that I just get so excited about.

131

:

Yeah.

132

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: I'm like,

I want to do a whole episode just like

133

:

asking about like experience you've

had and work you've had, but I do

134

:

think let's dive into money and yeah,

what do you have to teach us about

135

:

money, both like thought and belief

work and then also the energy aspect?

136

:

Maren Rasmussen: So I I love money work.

137

:

I think it can really show us a lot more.

138

:

It's not about the money.

139

:

Like the more I've gotten into money

and wanting to make money and create

140

:

more value so I can receive money.

141

:

And the more I've gotten into that

more money I want to make, I'm like,

142

:

Whoa, this is not about the money.

143

:

So I, I did a masterclass recently on

this and There's just so many little

144

:

snippets from that and books I've read

and coaches that I've talked to And

145

:

I'm sure you've had thoughts about

money too that just really opened

146

:

your mind up to how I want money.

147

:

Is that okay?

148

:

Can I create more of it?

149

:

So I always tell people like the

first thing you need to know is Where

150

:

are you currently with money like?

151

:

What thoughts do you have about it?

152

:

What do you believe about money?

153

:

A very strong generational

belief, especially in

154

:

Christians, is money is evil.

155

:

Or money is the root of all evil.

156

:

And it's really interesting to

see that, like, pops up quite

157

:

often as I'm working on people.

158

:

But it's trying, you know, people have

gone on to say, well, it's the love

159

:

of money that's the root of all evil.

160

:

I think you can really dig into that

deeply and figure out what is that really,

161

:

like, what was, if you believe in God,

like, what was God really meaning by that?

162

:

If we shift out of that, like,

money is evil, then what,

163

:

then what's, what is possible?

164

:

Some of my other favorite questions

are looking at, like, what your

165

:

parents believe about money.

166

:

What do you think about when

you look in your bank account?

167

:

How do you feel about spending

money, receiving money?

168

:

I know a lot of people have a hard time

receiving and having like things paid for.

169

:

So I've worked on people

before where they have that.

170

:

And I, I say to them, you know, money

the universe, which I feel like there's

171

:

just an energy, a flow of energy.

172

:

That's called like the energy

of money that's in the universe.

173

:

And it's always listening to us.

174

:

And when someone offers to pay for

a drink or for your dinner, or can

175

:

I buy your gas, whatever it may be.

176

:

Like the smallest things.

177

:

And we're like, we say no, it's kind

of sending a signal in that arena

178

:

of like, she doesn't want money.

179

:

Like we're, she's not

in the receiving mode.

180

:

She's not willing to receive.

181

:

And so it's, that's like a

very like finite detail, right?

182

:

A lot of people wouldn't even think

about that, but being willing to

183

:

be more open to receiving money and

receiving the enlightenment that

184

:

can come as you work on your money.

185

:

Beliefs can be so powerful.

186

:

And.

187

:

Yeah, deep.

188

:

And

189

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: like, that

concept so last year, my husband had a

190

:

lot of health challenges, and with that,

we had a lot of people reach out to help

191

:

in so many different ways, one of which

was financially, and I totally felt that,

192

:

where like, I've been doing all this

work you know, like money mindset work,

193

:

like to receive money in my business.

194

:

But then when people wanted to just

give us money and like significant

195

:

amounts of money, I felt that

like resistance of like, no, I

196

:

want to make this money on my own.

197

:

And I kind of had to work through

that of like, why am I saying no?

198

:

Like, I only want it from this one source.

199

:

I don't know.

200

:

I just.

201

:

That's a really fascinating

concept because I feel like I

202

:

totally experienced that last year.

203

:

Maren Rasmussen: it's like, it's

recognizing that money wants to come

204

:

to you and support you and help you

co create co create even ideas and

205

:

businesses, but also co creation in just

experiencing life, like experiencing

206

:

going on a trip or whatever desires

you have that you feel like drawn to.

207

:

I feel like those desires are given to us.

208

:

They're meant to be created and

money is just a tool to help support

209

:

that in the creation process.

210

:

So like one of my mantras, I like

always say is I am willing to receive

211

:

from known and unknown sources.

212

:

And I know Amber Smith are my coach.

213

:

She like talks about that a lot of like,

just imagine there's all these doors.

214

:

And like there's one door that's work

and there's one door that's your spouse's

215

:

work, you know Those are two doors that

you know money's gonna flow to you But

216

:

then there's all these other doors that

we often just keep closed or like nope.

217

:

Not that way.

218

:

Not that way

219

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: Yes.

220

:

Maren Rasmussen: So it's really learning

to like be open to I am willing to receive

221

:

from any, any source, even if it's through

my husband, like my abundant mindset

222

:

can help that money come from any way.

223

:

And I am not I'm not going

to close those doors.

224

:

I'm going to keep those open.

225

:

And then when it comes, I'm going to

recognize, wow, I helped create this.

226

:

I helped be open to this.

227

:

I helped it come to me.

228

:

Cause often we don't even recognize it.

229

:

The more we recognize it, the more we can

create and the more we can expand that.

230

:

Which I think is amazing too.

231

:

So,

232

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: I love that.

233

:

Yes.

234

:

Maren Rasmussen: One of the quotes, these

quotes, I don't know who said this, but

235

:

it says money is not the real thing.

236

:

It's only a symbol of the

real wealth inside of us.

237

:

So it's really connecting

with the wealth inside of you.

238

:

One thing I love to do

energetically is a money thermostat.

239

:

And this is kind of where you

feel comfortable with money.

240

:

I love looking at that with,

with my clients and seeing like,

241

:

okay, this is where you're at.

242

:

And it's usually like a yearly.

243

:

Yeah, or how much, or even like,

how much is it your savings account?

244

:

Like,

245

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: Hmm.

246

:

Maren Rasmussen: you can kind of see a

lot of like, how much am I okay having?

247

:

And a lot of times you can kind of

look at your savings account and see

248

:

like, oh, I'm okay having 30, 000 in

my savings account, whatever it may be.

249

:

When we get above that, it's

just like a thermostat, like.

250

:

It kicks on and it's

like, we got to cool down.

251

:

We got to get back to 30, 000.

252

:

Cause that's where we're comfortable

when we're below that it kicks on.

253

:

And we're like, we got to save, we

don't have enough in our bank account.

254

:

So I love helping my clients

also understand where they are.

255

:

And then let's, let's get more

comfortable with more, let's get

256

:

comfortable sitting with that.

257

:

And some ways to do this.

258

:

is by understanding how money is created.

259

:

I believe firmly like money is created

by value and this can be anything.

260

:

It's not just work.

261

:

Like value creation can be being a mother.

262

:

It can be sharing your

beliefs or sharing your ideas.

263

:

It can be work.

264

:

Work can totally be that serving

conversations that you have with people.

265

:

Like there's so much value creation.

266

:

That we can offer to people.

267

:

And then that is like one way that opens

up the door, another door or the doors to

268

:

receiving the energy of money that like

wants to come to you and support you.

269

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: Hmm.

270

:

Which is kind of coming back to

that concept earlier of like where

271

:

the money come from comes from.

272

:

I think it's easy to be like

money is an exchange of value.

273

:

I will.

274

:

I will do this service for you and you

will pay me, like, one for one, but

275

:

I, I, I think that's such a helpful

principle to, like, understand that

276

:

it's, it's not always, we don't

always see the exact transaction.

277

:

It's not as, like, transactional as it

278

:

Maren Rasmussen: I love Yes, exactly like.

279

:

It's you can do something years ago that

then it's coming back to you today, or

280

:

you've closed, you've kept that door

closed and now you're learning to open

281

:

it and it still wants to come to you.

282

:

So yeah, I think it is just an

energy of like value creation

283

:

and abundance, of course tapping

into that mentality that there's

284

:

enough understanding what you want.

285

:

That's like another thing

that I love to really.

286

:

I think people get scared to look

at what they want or some people,

287

:

especially I know I'm like deep in the

like the motherhood era and it's like,

288

:

I don't even know what I want anymore.

289

:

I don't even know what that is.

290

:

And so understanding and getting specific.

291

:

I think it's really important to be

able to connect with what you want

292

:

and really connecting with that.

293

:

So one thing my mind's going ever because

there's so many different things, but,

294

:

I really like when I thought more about

like, who it's who you become as you're

295

:

like, wanting a bigger, and this could

be any goal, but I do love specifically

296

:

connecting it with money because it

is something you can see come to you.

297

:

Like it's.

298

:

It's more clear like, Oh my gosh, I

just got that amount of money and that

299

:

is like, it's, it's easy for you to

like, Oh my gosh, I did this and this

300

:

is, so it's not transactional, but it

still is movement and it's flow and

301

:

it's something you can be physically.

302

:

But when I was thinking about this, one

of my clients, she has a goal to make

303

:

like a hundred thousand every month.

304

:

So I was talking to her about like,

how do you feel about that number?

305

:

And we were going back and forth.

306

:

But I just tried to help.

307

:

She kind of felt like, Ooh, like, I

don't know if I can charge my clients.

308

:

And I know it's worth worth this

value, but I feel like, Ooh, I don't

309

:

know about charging this amount.

310

:

And I was like, this is amazing.

311

:

Like, who do you have to be to

be willing to charge that amount?

312

:

Confidently, what beliefs do

you need to let go of what new

313

:

beliefs do you need to adopt?

314

:

How would you act differently?

315

:

And I've thought about this and

I'm like, Holy cow, this work

316

:

I've done on money has expanded.

317

:

Like I.

318

:

I have to be a different person with,

with my husband and kids, and I need to

319

:

let go of limiting beliefs about myself.

320

:

Like I can't think.

321

:

Oh, I'm so insecure and I don't know what

I'm doing and I suck, you know, like I

322

:

really have to like those things come up,

but I don't need to believe them anymore.

323

:

It's, it's in the process of this.

324

:

That's, that's why people, I always

hated the thing of like, it's

325

:

the journey, not the destination.

326

:

This work has helped me understand it

really is the journey, like the joy of

327

:

letting go of false beliefs about yourself

which you can see come up energetically,

328

:

but you can probably also feel them,

like when something feels heavy and dark

329

:

and restrictive versus something that

feels expansive and fun and light you can

330

:

definitely feel that in your system and

know Even though the world says, don't

331

:

think this way you can know deep down.

332

:

No, I feel drawn that to like,

love myself and take care of myself

333

:

and to believe that I'm amazing.

334

:

1 of my favorite quotes is

Marianne Williamson, deepest fear.

335

:

It's pretty much like.

336

:

That's what I that's like what my work is

all about is like helping people uncover

337

:

the light within them like the quote

says something like who am I to like,

338

:

share my light and she says, Who are

you not to like, you are a divine being.

339

:

And it's not our darkness

that we're afraid of.

340

:

It's our light.

341

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: Yes.

342

:

Maren Rasmussen: into things,

it is more and more like, oh my

343

:

gosh, people are just afraid.

344

:

For some reason, part of our humanness,

part of the world and how society

345

:

says things, but to share our light.

346

:

And when we share our light,

that's value creation.

347

:

And that automatically allows

that money to flow to you.

348

:

Which I love.

349

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: So good.

350

:

So good.

351

:

Maren Rasmussen: A couple other things

that I love to is like to personify money.

352

:

So if you think about money as a friend

I like to think like, oh, if it's

353

:

one of like my favorite people in the

world, I would let them come to my

354

:

house and stay as long as they need to.

355

:

So I'm willing to have it.

356

:

I'm willing to keep it.

357

:

And then if they need to

go, I'm okay to spend.

358

:

I'm okay to release.

359

:

I'm okay to donate gift, offer, pay.

360

:

When I think about paying for something

like a bill, like utilities or

361

:

electricity to the smallest degree,

I try to be very grateful for it.

362

:

Like, I'm so grateful I get to have

this electricity and pay for this.

363

:

Really personifying that can help

you understand, like, where is my

364

:

relationship with money and do I

have a good relationship with it?

365

:

I really love being able to think about

how do you think about rich people and

366

:

how do you think about poor people?

367

:

Like, I, I feel like a lot of

people have judgments both ways.

368

:

positive or negative.

369

:

Like a lot of times people

might say like, Oh, poor people.

370

:

They've really had to like

struggle and make it through life.

371

:

Like almost like they

have a better character.

372

:

And because of that struggle,

they're like a better person, which

373

:

would then make you like, not, it

would say money do not come to me.

374

:

Like I'm not going to be a good

person that has strong character.

375

:

And then if you look at rich

people, do you judge people

376

:

on how they spend their money?

377

:

Do you judge people that have nice things?

378

:

If you do that, money's going to say,

Oh, we're not supposed to go to her.

379

:

Because you're judging that and,

and looking at people that way,

380

:

or, or I've heard a lot of people

like, Oh, that rich snobby person.

381

:

So they characterize money

382

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: It's

so interesting how prevalent

383

:

that belief is in our society.

384

:

Even I think most people would

say, like, do you want more money?

385

:

Yes.

386

:

Like, of course I want more money.

387

:

But then, in fact, just last night I

went and saw Cinderella the musical

388

:

and I don't know if this is in like

the the Disney cartoon version, but

389

:

the the musical version is very focused

on like the poor people and the rich

390

:

prince and how like he you know, has

this kind heart to help the poor people.

391

:

But I was thinking that because everyone

in that show, the poor people, are

392

:

personified as these humble, good people.

393

:

And everyone, except for

the prince, that's rich, is

394

:

personified as snobby and selfish.

395

:

And there were so many jokes made

about, like, the They only want to

396

:

keep their money and, and anyways,

it was super interesting thinking

397

:

about that while watching the show.

398

:

Maren Rasmussen: It's, it is so

much around us and interesting maybe

399

:

to even listen to how your parents

talk about people that have money.

400

:

And, and now I've, it's been kind

of fun, like no judgment whatsoever,

401

:

but when I hear people talk about

money, it's little things pop up where

402

:

I'm like, Oh, that's interesting.

403

:

Like you're probably not going to make

more than this amount because of how

404

:

you're talking about, like, Your system's

not going to want it because it thinks

405

:

it's a bad thing, even though you want it.

406

:

So I know some people that someone in

my family that often says like, Oh,

407

:

this spiritual person or a person in

a church leadership position that has

408

:

a lot of money and that they are evil.

409

:

Like,

410

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: Interesting.

411

:

Maren Rasmussen: like combining, like,

Oh, these, these people are so bad and

412

:

they're, they're meant, they're supposed

to be spiritual, but they're not.

413

:

So almost like, oh no,

if you have a lot of

414

:

Alex | Mindful with Media:

Because they have money.

415

:

Maren Rasmussen: you're not

going to be spiritual anymore.

416

:

You're going to be this evil person.

417

:

And so.

418

:

I watched that.

419

:

I'm like, okay, that's probably

going to block money from you.

420

:

One of my favorite quotes I heard

at first from Brooke Castillo,

421

:

but it was like, money just makes

you more of who you already are.

422

:

So if you're generous, it's

going to make you more generous.

423

:

If you are greedy and evil, it's

going to make you more of that.

424

:

And so money isn't evil.

425

:

It just amplifies.

426

:

What's already going on in our system and

some people can handle seeing that and it

427

:

might bring out things where you're like,

Oh, I really want to change this about me.

428

:

And it might bring out that light

that you're afraid of that you're.

429

:

So if you're like, Oh, my gosh, I

have this gift or this thing that

430

:

I meant to share with the world

that's going to automatically

431

:

bring value and money back to me.

432

:

Are you willing to let that out and

willing to explore that and share that?

433

:

So good, good, some good things to

like, think about I do want to just say

434

:

like a few ways to tap into the energy

of money really is just, if you have a

435

:

good imagination, like perfect place,

but meditation, meditation I often use

436

:

my imagination kind of daydreaming.

437

:

So, really getting to that place where if

you already had the amount of money that

438

:

you're wanting, what would it feel like?

439

:

And, and making sure you can get

to a place that feels comfortable.

440

:

And then I'm like, Oh, no, what

if I get sued now or how are

441

:

these people going to look at me?

442

:

So like the negative

thoughts start coming in.

443

:

So I just kind of let them pass by

and I get back into like, no, how

444

:

would this feel if I already had this?

445

:

I felt abundant and free

in having this money.

446

:

Like, what would I be thinking?

447

:

What would I be feeling?

448

:

What would it.

449

:

look like in my home?

450

:

How would I, what would I do with my kids?

451

:

Like really playing with that, that

just opens up the door to abundance.

452

:

And I've seen this with my work.

453

:

My work is so energetic because I do

energy work, but most of my work is

454

:

through referrals and It's without fail.

455

:

When I tap into that, it's

like a client will contact me.

456

:

And then if I go a few days with

no one contacting me, I can,

457

:

okay, where am I blocked off?

458

:

What's going on in my system?

459

:

I can relax into it.

460

:

I can notice it, let it like, okay,

I'm noticing that I'm feeling a little

461

:

overwhelmed or Like recently I increased

my pricing because I felt there was a

462

:

little bit of a disconnect there with

how much I was charging versus how

463

:

much effort and value was being created

and what I felt like I energetically

464

:

needed to be at and so being able to

shift into that and open up to it.

465

:

And then let the clients come,

invite them in energetically.

466

:

And then of course, you're

going to do action too.

467

:

Like I'm going to share, I'm

going to be on a podcast.

468

:

I'm going to share something

on my Instagram or send

469

:

something to my email list.

470

:

Action is involved, but I think first

you need to get to a spiritual creation.

471

:

Everything's created spiritually

first before physically.

472

:

And so being able to tap into it that way,

if you can visualize daydream, imagine,

473

:

meditate, those are some really good ways.

474

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: hmm.

475

:

That's really helpful.

476

:

I love those.

477

:

Maren Rasmussen: And lastly,

I would just say, like,

478

:

first, like, like I said, like, becoming

aware of where you are, noticing how

479

:

you talk about money, how you talk about

people with money or without it, and

480

:

just starting to have, like, a different

relationship with that, and I think

481

:

will change a lot of things but also

really practicing some good beliefs.

482

:

Some beliefs that I have that

I've been working on are I

483

:

always earn more than I spend.

484

:

Money comes to me effortlessly.

485

:

I am connected to money and Money in

light because some people still think

486

:

there's like dark money and like, so

you can be like, I'm connected to money.

487

:

That's in the light

ethical, all those things.

488

:

I'm willing to receive from known

and unknown sources some beliefs that

489

:

block money are like money is hard.

490

:

It only comes through

hard work and sacrifice.

491

:

I think that's a very interesting one

because I think a lot of us, especially

492

:

in the United States, believe that because

of like the founding fathers and like

493

:

we're willing to go make our own way.

494

:

But think about some

of the hardest workers.

495

:

I think about some really hard workers

and like even like we have a lot of

496

:

construction going on and how hard

they're working all day physically.

497

:

And I know they're not making

as much as someone else that

498

:

may not be working as hard.

499

:

And so really it's not about

sacrifice and hard work.

500

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: That is

probably the number one thing I see

501

:

with my clients with their beliefs

about money is like, I mean, even from

502

:

like a practical standpoint, like I

had a client who wanted to do more

503

:

just like one on one coaching sessions.

504

:

And she was doing like done

for you services before.

505

:

And she wanted to just do done

for you or not done for you.

506

:

She wanted to just do coaching sessions.

507

:

And it would be like a lot

less time, a lot less effort.

508

:

And she's like, But I can't charge

money for that because it's so

509

:

easy for me, like, it just becomes,

it's just so natural for me.

510

:

And I'm like, that's exactly where

you should be spending your time,

511

:

if like, it comes naturally for you.

512

:

But then we, we accidentally spend time

doing things that are like, you know,

513

:

like I'm reading The Big Leap right now,

are more of our zone of competence, our

514

:

zone of, Excellence, instead of your zone

of genius, which is actually better for

515

:

everyone, if it's effortless for you.

516

:

Maren Rasmussen: Oh, it's so true.

517

:

And I've had a few people I had one

person blatantly who, his personality

518

:

is just this way, but it's just like,

almost like you're not supposed to

519

:

charge people for your spiritual gifts.

520

:

And, It kind of hit me

because I've had it.

521

:

I've played back and

forth like, is this okay?

522

:

Is this not?

523

:

And like for years and finally one day

I was just like, I meant to do this.

524

:

I'm doing it.

525

:

And so I, I feel like I've

been guided well since then.

526

:

And I, I do tap into that occasionally

to make sure I'm on the right track.

527

:

But I thought about that more and

I was like, Huh, it seems like

528

:

we believe we're supposed to get

paid for things that we hate doing

529

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: Yeah.

530

:

Maren Rasmussen: things

that we love doing.

531

:

We're not supposed to get paid for.

532

:

So therefore, if we work 40 hours a week

or most people, we're supposed to be doing

533

:

stuff we hate most of the time and only

do stuff that we love some of the times

534

:

and like only share our gifts, like the

small portion that we have available.

535

:

And I was like, that is so backwards.

536

:

Like I strongly believe.

537

:

So I always see this in the sacral

chakra, which is like around your hips.

538

:

I see ideas, passions, gifts, dreams.

539

:

And I strongly believe if you have

that within you, if you have even

540

:

just like the smallest thing of

like, I want to go learn how to.

541

:

Like ride a bike.

542

:

My, my child's learning how to ride

a bike right now, but ride a bike.

543

:

I want to go on this vacation to Italy

to not just like throw that out the

544

:

window, but trust that like, there's,

there's an experience in there for you.

545

:

Like you wanted to

experience that in this life.

546

:

You're meant to do that.

547

:

There's, there's purpose in it.

548

:

And so let that come out,

let it live, look at it.

549

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: Hmm.

550

:

Maren Rasmussen: And, and then

I'll, and connect with like, Oh my

551

:

gosh, I really love speaking to it.

552

:

Like for me, I like speaking.

553

:

I like coaching people.

554

:

I like doing energy work.

555

:

This is really fun and rewarding.

556

:

There's challenge in it, of course,

but that's like the humanness that

557

:

I'm just trying to release and like

connect more with my true self.

558

:

And so trust those instincts and

those desires and maybe play around

559

:

with like, Oh my gosh, maybe, like,

the things that I love doing and I'm

560

:

really good at are is the thing I'm

supposed to be doing most of my day,

561

:

rather than doing something I hate.

562

:

I think that's

563

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: so true,

like, the society really does have it

564

:

backwards, but that is I see that as a

very common belief that, that comes up,

565

:

but yeah, when you think about it, it's

like, no, it's actually not better just

566

:

for you, but it's better for everyone if

you're spending your time doing things

567

:

that you're good at and that you love.

568

:

Maren Rasmussen: And some

people like with that, like

569

:

abundance creates more abundance.

570

:

And so abundance really is

just like, there's enough.

571

:

Some people have the belief, like,

Oh no, if I get this job, I'm

572

:

going to take it from someone else.

573

:

Or if I get this money, I'm

taking it from someone else.

574

:

My belief is like, there's

enough for everyone.

575

:

And there's say, there's like.

576

:

Okay.

577

:

10 million that wants to come to you.

578

:

It's just going to be sitting

there until it gets to you.

579

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: Hmm.

580

:

It's not like

581

:

Maren Rasmussen: not taking

it from someone else.

582

:

Yeah.

583

:

It's not like this, like

limited bank account.

584

:

It's just, it's abundant and being

able to, to see that and recognize

585

:

that and realize like, as I shine

my light, it's going to give other

586

:

people permission to do the same.

587

:

So important and.

588

:

Really, if you, if you end up like

triggering for someone else and they have

589

:

a negative comment towards you, one of my

other favorite quotes is like, difficult

590

:

people are our greatest teachers.

591

:

They show us to ourselves.

592

:

And so really it's, it's fine.

593

:

Like you can help find something in that

if that's triggering for you, if it's for

594

:

them, you can send them love and light.

595

:

But I really think doing money

work can be, can be life changing.

596

:

It can change who you are, if you're

willing to do it in a way that.

597

:

You, you believe it can

support you and help you.

598

:

And then it's okay.

599

:

Like I also, I would also like say,

think about how much money you want to

600

:

make and tap into that, like, there's

a reason that amount people would

601

:

probably think, like, I don't want

to make a billion dollars, that's not

602

:

even like something I want right now,

but like a million, 10 million, yes.

603

:

And so like tapping into those numbers

that if it's a hundred thousand for

604

:

you, 10, 000, whatever it may be.

605

:

Connecting because there's a reason

that number is coming to you and

606

:

it's like, okay, where's the gap?

607

:

The gap is who do I have to become?

608

:

Or what do I need to let go

of and change in order to?

609

:

Be aligned with that.

610

:

So it can just come to me.

611

:

And once you're there at that point,

it's like, it will come, you release

612

:

the timing of it, you know, it will

come and then you just continue sharing

613

:

putting value in the world, all of it.

614

:

It's awesome.

615

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: So good.

616

:

So good.

617

:

Maren Rasmussen: And

I think, yeah, that's.

618

:

That's like the main, the main

stuff that I love about money.

619

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: Me, that

was so good and honestly, this was

620

:

good for me to revisit because I'm

fascinated by the idea of money.

621

:

I feel like I've done a lot of my money

mindset work, but I, I do feel like

622

:

I, I, I don't know if I've, my, my

thermostat, like I need to like visit

623

:

that and let that be a higher number.

624

:

Yeah.

625

:

What, what were your tips again for

626

:

Maren Rasmussen: The thermostat.

627

:

Alex | Mindful with Media:

Yeah, getting to a

628

:

Maren Rasmussen: So, so one is like

understanding where you are and then

629

:

thinking about where you'd like to be.

630

:

And in that gap, it really is

like, how do you think about money?

631

:

It's that gap is like being

more aware of how you.

632

:

You think about money that your

relationship with money and then

633

:

energetically or like visually going

within to create it spiritually first

634

:

and like getting to, okay, if I already

had this, what would I be thinking and

635

:

feeling and sometimes when you get there,

you might find some limiting beliefs like.

636

:

Oh, no, I would be thinking like one

of mine for some reason is like people

637

:

are going to sue me like I'm scared of

getting more money because then I think

638

:

people are going to like try to take it

and that's one like if I get this, it's

639

:

just going to get taken away from me.

640

:

So, okay, there's something that's in

that gap that I need to look at and

641

:

reevaluate and figure out like, okay,

if someone does sue me, then sometimes

642

:

it's going to go to worst case scenario.

643

:

If someone does sue me, then what?

644

:

Oh, I know how to create more money.

645

:

It doesn't matter.

646

:

Like, it's fine.

647

:

And I, I'm not going to be attracting

people that are out to sue me,

648

:

you know, like it's really just

like playing around with those.

649

:

So recognize where you are

and where you want to be.

650

:

And then that within that gap,

you can kind of play around with

651

:

it, with the visualization or, or

working on changing how you view

652

:

and think and talk about money.

653

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: Hmm.

654

:

I love that so much.

655

:

It's interesting you say that

about suing because I've actually

656

:

had several clients reach out.

657

:

They're really nervous.

658

:

They're going to get in trouble

legally with their business.

659

:

And so they're like, well, it's

easier just to make less money.

660

:

Cause then I Can't get

in trouble legally, like.

661

:

Maren Rasmussen: it's so interesting.

662

:

And it's like, what are as my

coach says, like, if you, if you're

663

:

picking up one side of the pen,

you're picking up both sides.

664

:

So like, yeah, if I'm going to

create a bigger, like, for me,

665

:

if I'm going to create a bigger

business, I need to probably, maybe

666

:

I need to have some contracts in

place or legal support, whatever.

667

:

Or maybe I need to start

offering credit card services.

668

:

So it really, part of that too is

like expanding that comfort zone.

669

:

That's where that comfort zone

and what that thermostat is

670

:

of like, I can handle this.

671

:

Like, if there's some legal issues

that come up, I can handle it.

672

:

And also I don't, I don't need to be

looking for that or attracting it.

673

:

Like.

674

:

It's it's gonna be okay.

675

:

So

676

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: Yeah,

677

:

Maren Rasmussen: a good one to get

like, I'm sure you coach them on that.

678

:

Like that's a good one to be like,

okay, if you have a coach, I'm

679

:

getting really stuck on this belief.

680

:

Can you help me dissect that

more and coach through that?

681

:

Alex | Mindful with Media:

totally, totally.

682

:

Maren Rasmussen: Yeah.

683

:

Alex | Mindful with Media: Oh,

well, for my listeners who want to

684

:

be part of your world, what's the,

well, one, where can they find you?

685

:

And then what's the best way to

get started working with you?

686

:

I

687

:

Maren Rasmussen: so you

can I'm on Instagram.

688

:

It's living awake with Marin.

689

:

And you can direct message me there

or else my email is listed there and

690

:

you can reach out to me and I can let

you know how we can work together.
