Speaker:

I'm Alex, and you're listening to the Mindful with Media podcast.

2

:

Welcome back to the podcast.

3

:

Chances are.

4

:

You are not the only one.

5

:

That.

6

:

Offers what you do, whether that's.

7

:

Business coaching or life

coaching of some sort or.

8

:

Fitness coaching, health

coaching, whatever it is like

9

:

in the coaching world, or.

10

:

A lot of people, I work with

help moms of young kids with

11

:

something often related to.

12

:

Their mental health or

their mental wellbeing.

13

:

And.

14

:

It can be really easy.

15

:

If you are a business owner who offers.

16

:

Something similar to someone else.

17

:

Two.

18

:

Question.

19

:

Why.

20

:

You're even here.

21

:

Why.

22

:

Why are you needed?

23

:

When.

24

:

Your imposter syndrome

might be telling you that.

25

:

There was someone else

who can do this better.

26

:

My potential clients can

get help from someone else.

27

:

And you might secretly think that.

28

:

The way that other people teach

things as better, or yeah, just that

29

:

you're not needed in your space.

30

:

And.

31

:

With that, if you are really aware

of other people in your niche and how

32

:

they're serving people and maybe even how

their businesses doing, like I said, it

33

:

can be easy to slip into that space of.

34

:

Comparison.

35

:

And.

36

:

I kind of noticed like two patterns.

37

:

One people tend to shut down

and not want to show up.

38

:

Because.

39

:

They don't feel needed.

40

:

In their niche or their space.

41

:

Or they try to.

42

:

Convince maybe themselves

and other people that they.

43

:

R for everyone and they can serve.

44

:

Everyone.

45

:

And they can do anything in that niche.

46

:

Like I want to try to convince, yeah.

47

:

I said like themselves, that.

48

:

They are.

49

:

Fit to be there in that space.

50

:

And I want to offer a different

perspective today that you

51

:

specifically are uniquely needed

in your space and in your niche.

52

:

And that you're not for everyone.

53

:

That there are people who want.

54

:

The results that you have.

55

:

. But you're actually not for them.

56

:

But because of that.

57

:

That same true principle.

58

:

You're not for everyone.

59

:

And you specifically.

60

:

R for certain people.

61

:

I had an experience recently

where I had multiple different

62

:

people, reference someone who.

63

:

I really look up to and.

64

:

Just commenting that.

65

:

She wasn't the type of person

that they would want to hire.

66

:

And it was.

67

:

Kind of shocking to me because.

68

:

In my mind.

69

:

Everyone would want to hire her.

70

:

And so.

71

:

When I realized that she's

not for everyone, it made

72

:

me start to doubt myself.

73

:

Like.

74

:

Well, if she is amazing in all these

ways, and she's not for everyone.

75

:

Then.

76

:

I'm not for everyone, which of

course I had realized before, but it

77

:

kind of hit me in a different way.

78

:

And.

79

:

It made me start to doubt.

80

:

What do I even offer?

81

:

How do I even help people?

82

:

Am I worth what I'm charging right.

83

:

And I started to want to be for everyone.

84

:

Thinking of.

85

:

Ways I could.

86

:

Change myself or change my offers

or change my business to serve.

87

:

Everyone.

88

:

And that quickly gets overwhelming

because that's not realistic.

89

:

Right.

90

:

And so.

91

:

Like I said, I, I think

I started to turn to.

92

:

Doubt and wanting to not

share how we help people.

93

:

Because it didn't feel.

94

:

Unique or special.

95

:

And so.

96

:

The then I did some journaling

and I realized that.

97

:

I'm not for everyone and the people who.

98

:

Have hired me and will hire me.

99

:

They will hire me for, because of.

100

:

The skills I have and

the experiences I have.

101

:

But that's just, it.

102

:

They're not just going to hire me

for the results that I help them

103

:

get, but they hire me for the way.

104

:

That I helped them get those results.

105

:

And while it may be similar

to other people, It is unique.

106

:

To me because I am a unique person

and the same is true of you.

107

:

That.

108

:

You are a unique person.

109

:

You have distinctly unique.

110

:

Perspectives and experiences.

111

:

And insights and ways of.

112

:

Teaching and ways.

113

:

I have.

114

:

Listening and ways of

presenting information and.

115

:

Skills and those unique parts of your.

116

:

Personality and you as a

person, all combined together.

117

:

Are what make your business

so unique and special?

118

:

And that's why someone

is going to hire you.

119

:

Over anyone else?

120

:

Yes, they're going to

want certain results.

121

:

And.

122

:

We can talk about marketing and

how your messaging can impact.

123

:

If people are aware of how you help

them and why you're different and why.

124

:

You may or may not be a good fit for them.

125

:

But.

126

:

Ultimately it comes back to, there are

certain people and I really believe

127

:

this, that there are certain people.

128

:

That are looking for.

129

:

What you have to offer and not

just what you have to offer,

130

:

but the way that you offer it.

131

:

Because of who you are as a person.

132

:

And so this is your

reminder to keep showing up.

133

:

Keep.

134

:

Tweaking your messaging.

135

:

Keep shining your light in a

way that feels aligned to you.

136

:

So that those people can.

137

:

Find you.

138

:

And get that help that they are

seeking for that they want to pay for.

139

:

And I just want to make one

last note on that concept.

140

:

Like actually I have a few more notes.

141

:

But that concept of showing up, I think.

142

:

Sometimes we incorrectly believe that.

143

:

Successful business owners.

144

:

Just have to put one post up and

everyone will sign up really quickly.

145

:

And some people may have that experience.

146

:

But I have found that the

successful business owners

147

:

that I have interacted with.

148

:

They are.

149

:

Not afraid to be uncomfortable.

150

:

To continue talking about their offer.

151

:

VIN when no one has shown up.

152

:

Or after a failed offer,

they tweak things.

153

:

They learn from it.

154

:

And they show up again.

155

:

And they're willing to continue to.

156

:

Show up.

157

:

With or without certain results.

158

:

And to learn from.

159

:

Their experiences.

160

:

And one last note on this concept of.

161

:

How people want to hire you specifically

and how you're not for everyone.

162

:

Sometimes, like I said,

you'll have an offer that.

163

:

Doesn't turn out as you expected.

164

:

Or.

165

:

You won't get the results that

you were hoping for or the

166

:

engagement or whatever it is.

167

:

And sometimes yeah.

168

:

People we use that data to.

169

:

We think it shows that people

don't want what you're offering.

170

:

And it can be easy to slip into doubt.

171

:

We're often, there are so

many factors involved in.

172

:

The results of an offer.

173

:

And so yes, data can be helpful.

174

:

In.

175

:

Knowing if you're just doing

the same thing over and over

176

:

and getting the same result.

177

:

Or if you need to.

178

:

Post more, you know, maybe you didn't

show up enough posting about your

179

:

offer, or if you need to tweak some

of your messaging around the offer.

180

:

And, and trust your intuition on this.

181

:

If.

182

:

If you've talked about it enough, or

if you , need to make some tweaks.

183

:

And usually it's probably both.

184

:

Be willing to learn from the data.

185

:

And trust that there are certain people

that want what you're offering and to keep

186

:

showing up until, until they find you.

187

:

I really do believe that

there are certain people.

188

:

Who want to hire you specifically

to help them get the results

189

:

that they're looking for?
